Arial Baptist Church

Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God.

Education & Discipleship
Ken Dover, Minister of Education

 GOALS & COMPONENTS OF THE EDUCATION MINISTRY

The educational ministry is driven by

  • The Great Commission: “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them …. (and) teaching them…” Matthew 28:19, 20 (HCSB), and

  • The Great Commandment: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind… (and) love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37, 39 (HCSB).

The goal of the Educational Ministry is to carry out the six purposes of the church as modeled by the early church in Acts 2:42-47.

  • Exalt God through worship: “praising God”  - Acts 2:47 (HCSB);

  • Evangelize the world through proclamation and missions: “And every day the Lord added to them those who were being saved” - Acts 2:47 (HCSB);

  • Equip believers through teaching and mentoring: “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching” - Acts 2:42 (HCSB);

  • Edify one another through ministry and service: “…they sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as anyone had a need” - Acts 2:45 (HCSB)

  • Encounter God through prayer: “And they devoted themselves to … prayers” - Acts 2:42 (HCSB);

  • Encourage one another through fellowship: “And they devoted themselves to … fellowship” – Acts 2:42 (HCSB).

The components of the Educational Ministry are Sunday School, Discipleship, and Mission Organizations.  To learn more about the component of the education ministry, contact Ken Dover.
